Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired to work with elementary students in Asheville, NC. This role focuses on providing personalized education and support to kindergarten students with visual impairments, ensuring they receive the tailored instruction needed to thrive in a learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individualized educational sessions for kindergarten students with visual impairments, utilizing adaptive teaching methods.
- Develop and implement lesson plans designed to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering their academic and social development.
- Conduct assessments and track student progress, making adjustments to instructional strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate with parents, specialists, and school staff to create an inclusive educational experience.
- Provide training and resources to families and school personnel on effective strategies to support visually impaired students.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience working with young students, particularly in a one-on-one educational setting.
- Strong munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and families.
- Patience and passion for fostering a supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
