Job Description

Our Mission: To ignite an International Rotarian campaign to end malaria.

We are Rotary members committed to inspiring a broad international Rotarian campaign for global elimination of malaria. We believe that malaria can be eliminated through a comprehensive campaign similar to Rotary’s successful Polio Plus campaign. We do this by working with Rotary groups around the world to join together in the battle to end this disease.

Our work is constantly evolving to meet emerging needs and opportunities. We focus our efforts on advocacy within endemic countries, within Rotary and within the global NGO network.

We expand malaria education through presentations a Rotary club meetings, District Conferences, International Conventions and community presentations.

We value our strategic partnerships with National, Regional and Provincial Health officials in endemic countries, PATH/MACEPA, the Gates Foundation, the Alliance for Malaria Prevention, Pilgrim Africa, and Rotary.

Our Community Impact Grants empower Rotary Clubs in malaria endemic regions to take direct action in controlling the spread of malaria in their communities. Each local project addresses needs carefully defined by community leaders, utilizes current best malaria control practices, and provides measurable and attainable goals.

With the planned retirement of our current Executive Director, MPI plans to hire an interim leader to, with strategic leadership from the board, provide executive leadership over the next 18 to 24 months. MPI will be undergoing a planned merger with other Rotary malaria-focused organizations to scale our work and effectiveness. The Interim Executive Director will contribute to this effort as we move towards an integrated Rotary focus on eradicating Malaria.
