Campus Special Education (Push-In) Teacher 25/26- West Valley Campus (KG to 7th grade)
Arizonas first and only autism-focused charter school is expanding and seeking highly-skilled Special Education Teachers to serve as Campus Special Education Teacher, overseeing the delivery of Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in classrooms and serving as case manager for students in those classrooms.
Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Director and Assistant Director of Special Education, the Campus Special Education Teacher will support the development of IEPs, implementation of SDI, progress monitoring, and overall student success in our programs.
Candidates must be experienced in the correct design, implementation, and oversight of research-based educational strategies for students with disabilities, ABA teaching strategies, and have significant experience conducting these activities within school settings. The Master Special Education Teacher will work hand-in-hand with the school leadership to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best practices education model to achieve optimal results for students on the autism spectrum.
Duties:
- Coordinate IEP Service and delivery of Specially Designed Instruction for designated students
- Manage all aspects of the IEP, including scheduling meetings, completing paperwork, and monitoring progress.
- Manage educational programming for students on caseload
- Support classroom staff on the implementation of each IEP
- Maintains knowledge of special education teaching methods, research, and best practices through professional development and study.
- Oversight of staff creating a safe learning environment
- Oversight of accommodations and modifications to the adopted curriculum
- Analyze IEP data bi-weekly to make instructional decisions
- Parent communication
- Training and oversight of structured teaching planning, organizing, and implementing
- Staff communication/feedback
- Collaboration with ABA Managers for behavior and/or data analysis
- Maintain substitute plans in case of absence
- Participate in all duties and responsibilities as appropriate for an AZACS faculty member
- Collect, analyze, and report data in a meaningful manner
- Celebrates the achievements and successes of students.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 - 5 years teaching special education
- Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA) preferred
- Experience in structured teaching, center-based model preferred
Required:
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification
- Bachelors Degree or higher
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Coaches, monitors, and mentors instructional leads working with students with disabilities.
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class require: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in an indoor and outdoor classroom setting.
