Position Overview:

DEFTEC is seeking a Military Operations Analyst to provide support to the 1st Space Brigade S3 for task tracking and management, operations orders, briefings, presentations, reports, planning calendars, meeting attendance, exercise participation, organizational inspection program (OIP), and unit status reporting (USR).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support development and execution of the 1st Space Brigade Training Management processes in accordance with Army standards
  • Review and prepare Brigade input to the draft of the annual USASMDC Annual Training Guidance (ATG)
  • Assist in reviewing, developing, implementing and evaluating the 1st Space Brigade Standards and Evaluation program in accordance with the USASMDC Standards and Evaluations Program
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and revising the Brigade's Semi-Annual Training Brief (SATB) and all annexes and information papers. Task includes publishing the Brigade SATB EXORD, maintaining timelines for internal progress reviews and briefing milestones, as well as supporting briefings to the Deputy Commanding General for Operations and the Commanding General.
  • Coordinate products and scheduling the Quarterly Training Briefs for subordinate
  • Assist in planning, preparing and executing the 1st Space Brigade's annual training synchronization meeting
  • Support development and maintenance of the 1st Space Brigade Standard Mission Essential Task List (METL). The METL provides the baseline for the training strategy to face a myriad of operations ranging from support to civil authorities to support of combatant commanders, including support to commanders of US Forces globally.
  • Provide technical support to the subordinate battalions and 1st Space BrigadeHeadquartersandHeadquartersCompanyfordevelopmentoftheirrespective METLs.
  • Support the development and execution of the 1st Space Brigade's Leader Development Program.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • General understanding of Space support to operations at the brigade level or higher.
  • Thorough understanding of Army training management processes and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of FSOMETL development
  • Thorough understanding of the SMDC Standards and Evaluation
  • Expertise with DRRS-
  • Expertise using and understanding of Ballistic Missile Defense System assets and architecture and associated Command and Control systems.
  • (MDB Support) Be a graduate of one or more of the following courses: Sensor Manager Qualification Course, Sensor Manager Leader Development Course, Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Planner's Course, Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Tactician, THAAD Technician, or THAAD Follow-On.
  • ProficientwithMicrosoftOffice365
  • Completion of Space 200 is desired but not required
