JOB SUMMARY:
Pablo Center at the Confluence’s ARTmobile connects children and families with the visual arts through hands-on, accessible experiences.


As a Youth Art Educator, you will engage primarily with Pre-K youth and families, guiding fun and educational art projects designed to be completed in under 30 minutes. These projects are often conducted outdoors and encourage participation from parents or guardians. Projects are intended to be easy for children to carry home.


In addition, you will work with K–12 students during school gallery visits, designing and leading themed projects related to the Center’s rotating exhibits.


Educators foster a nurturing and engaging environment while researching and creating art activities rooted in art history, STEAM, health and wellness, and other stimulating themes. This includes making project samples, setting up mobile classrooms (sometimes outdoors), and guiding children and families through the creative process.

Successful candidates are flexible, enthusiastic, and comfortable working with children of all ages and backgrounds. They should also demonstrate a strong work ethic, creativity, and a collaborative spirit.


DUTIES:

· Research and design age-appropriate, educational art projects

· Create and archive detailed project lesson plans

· Prepare and record brief instructional videos for social media

· Stay within designated project budgets

· Set up, supervise, and lead each ARTmobile session (indoors or outdoors)

· Tear down and clean up after sessions

· Organize and maintain art materials and mobile classroom supplies

· Attend weekly staff meetings (in person or asynchronously)

· Wear Pablo Center-branded apparel during events


SALARY: $12-14/hour depending upon experience.


WORK DAYS/TIMES: This is a part-time position averaging 10-20 hours per week. Hours vary, including daytime, evening, and weekends, based on event needs.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

· Self-motivated and goal-oriented

· Strong communicator; able to explain instructions clearly to all age levels

· Creative problem-solver who can adapt projects to meet the needs of diverse participants, including children with disabilities

· Passionate about working with children and families

· Comfortable working independently and collaboratively

· Flexible and willing to take initiative

· Positive attitude and professional demeanor

· Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel

· Ability to lift and transport supplies (up to 30 lbs; carts and bins may be used)

· Must pass a background check


PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:

· Experience working with children or youth (Pre-K through grade 12)

· Background in art education, studio art, or related creative disciplines

· Experience teaching in classroom or community settings

· Familiarity with a wide range of art materials and safe handling practices
