Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher serving elementary students in grades K-8. The position is located in Blue Hill, ME, and is a contract role extending through the next school year (NSY). The ideal candidate will have a Maine 282 certification for special education and experience managing a K-8 caseload.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs
- Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student goals
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting interventions as necessary
- Maintaining accurate records and complying with all reporting requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Maine 282 Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience teaching students in grades K-8 with special needs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
