Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the VP of Human Resources/Chief Nursing Officer, the Staff Development Coordinator is an active member of the HR/Nursing department that collects data, provides comfort measures, and care to patients. The Staff Development Coordinator coordinates the development and implementation for ongoing clinical education within Crisp Regional Health System. The Staff Development Coordinator works with outside organizations to provide enterprise-wide clinical education programs. The coordinator identifies internal expert resources to conduct educational programs for the clinical staff. This position coordinates the clinical staff’s participation in external conferences and meetings and the sharing of information from those educational sessions. The Staff Development Coordinator conducts basic in-house training and certification programs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education:
Requires a Associates’ degree in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Experience:
Requires two to three years of work-related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:
Requires a current state license as a Registered Nurse and is listed in good standing with the state’s Department of Professional Credentialing.
Requires a current certification as BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor or required to be certified within the first 6 months of employment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains Instructor certification in BCLS, ACLS and PALS.
- Coordinates the development and implementation for ongoing clinical education within CRHS to include a certified nursing assistant program.
- Works with outside education and training organizations to provide enterprise-wide clinical education programs.
- Identifies expert internal resources to conduct educational programs for the clinical staff.
- Coordinates the clinical staff’s participation in external conferences and meetings and the sharing of information from those educational sessions.
- Conducts post-program evaluations to assess the cost/benefit of future staff participation and investment.
- Assumes responsibility for safety, infection control and performance improvement as part of CRHS’s efforts to provide quality care and services. Presents a professional image to CRHS’s nursing co-workers,
- clinical and medical staff members, patients, families and visitors.
- Attends professional develop programs and in-service training and meets the minimum requirement for continuing professional education.
- E-Learning Systems Administrator – Responsible for building new courses and managing reports as needed.
- NEO Presenter – Responsible for presenting at every New Hire Orientation. Responsible for providing clear understanding of all CRHS e-learning systems to New Hires.
- Responsible for conducting and coordinating Nursing orientation for all new nurse hires.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
