SCHOOL YEAR: 2025-2026

LOCATION: Sandia High School

WEEKLY HOURS - .5 COURSE CREDIT: No more than 10 hours per week. No more than 6 hours per day, plus complete a self-reflection project and present it during the last week of the internship. Currently a 1 - 2 semester limit.

HOURLY PAY: $15/hr stipend (No taxes withheld)

WHEN WORK HAPPENS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM unless instructed differently by your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor Contact Name above.

Summary of Position:

Interns will assist with lab cleaning and lab prep. Interns will conduct inventory, organize supplies, organize, label, and assist beginning culinary arts students in learning essential skills. At times, interns may also assist in catering on and off-site.

Exposure & Training provided through internship

We will teach you to manage the culinary arts lab and operations. Interns will learn about proper safety & sanitation, knife safety, knife skills, costing, organization management, timeliness, menu planning, catering, lab prep, and equipment maintenance.


Working and Physical Conditions/Onboarding Requirements (**vaccinations, etc.)

Please speak to your SEL Teacher/Advisor/Mentor regarding working and physical conditions at your intern site. You will also be required to sign and upload a W-9 and Parental Permission form. In addition, you will be required to electronically acknowledge Non-Disclosure and Internship agreements.

As part of your application, you will be expected to fill out your emergency contact information, school, and other personal information as required by Albuquerque Public Schools Work-Based Learning programs and the New Mexico Public Education Department. Failure to do so or omission, or erroneous information will result in your application being rejected.
