Middle School Online Math Tutor (Bilingual)
About the Role:
As a Middle School Online Math Tutor (Bilingual) at Braintrust Tutors, youll support middle school students in mastering key math concepts through structured, online intervention sessions. Youll provide engaging, consistent lessons using Braintrusts curriculum and materials, helping young learners build foundational math skills and confidence, particularly supporting Spanish-speaking students through bilingual instruction and targeted supports.

Tutoring Details:
- Start Date - Mid-October
- 12-week tutoring assignment
- School Day Hours (primarily on the East Coast)
- 6th-8th grade
- 45-minute sessions
- $22.50 for 1:1 session & $33.75 for group session
What You Will Do:
- Provide 1:1 or small-group virtual tutoring in math for students in middle school
- Implement Braintrusts intervention programs as designed, using all materials with fidelity
- Support Spanish-speaking students with bilingual instruction, scaffolds, and culturally responsive strategies
- Support English language learners with appropriate scaffolds and strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance
- Collaborate with the Braintrust Operations team and school staff to support student growth
- Create a welcoming, supportive virtual classroom environment that encourages student engagement
- Use provided assessments and progress monitoring tools for understanding to guide instruction
- Manage time effectively during sessions to complete all planned instructional activities
What You Will Have:
- Bachelors degree in Education or a related field
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish
- Experience working with Spanish-speaking, school-aged students in educational settings
- Active or expired teaching license
- Understanding of middle school math instruction focused on explicit, structured teaching of topics from fraction and decimal operations to algebraic equations, graphing, and functions, with experience using consistent lesson formats and strategies for conceptual reinforcement and word problem practice.
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
- Strong communication and virtual classroom management skills
- Comfortable using video conferencing tools and digital platforms
- Reliable Wi-Fi and a quiet, distraction-free workspace
- Passion for math literacy and closing opportunity gaps
