Job DescriptionSchool-Based Social Worker or Counselor: 2025–2026 School Year
AnthroMed Education is hiring a full-time School Social Worker or School Counselor to support an elementary school for the 2025–2026 school year! This is a fantastic opportunity to join a tight-knit, collaborative district where your work will be valued and supported. This role is on-site at the elementary level with the opportunity to support middle or high school only in rare crisis situations.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Full-Time | 36.15 hours per week
- Location: Dekalb County, IL
- School Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM
- Start Date: August 11, 2025
- End Date: May 22, 2026
- Grade Levels: PreK – 5th
- Office Space: Dedicated space within the elementary school
Caseload & Responsibilities:
- Caseload of ~12 students with IEPs (services delivered 1:1, small groups, and push-in)
- Lead RTI/MTSS groups (WIN = “What I Need”) supporting SEL skill development
- Crisis response team member (crisis needs are minimal in this district)
- Support implementation of the new RULER SEL curriculum (district is transitioning from Second Step)
- Serve as Homeless Liaison (minor time commitment)
- Collaborate with 2 other full-time social workers and a high school counselor
- No additional duties outside the scope of social work/counseling
- Use of Embrace IEP system
Requirements:
- Active Illinois PEL with School Social Worker or School Counselor Endorsement
- Must also hold IDFPR License if applying as a Social Worker
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience with SEL, crisis response, and group facilitation preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $55,000–$70,000 based on experience
