Special Education Teacher (SPED)
Location: New Orleans, LA
Contract: Full-Time School-Based Contract
Pay: Starting at $35 an Hour

Position Overview:

As a Special Education Teacher, youll work closely with students who have a range of learning, emotional, behavioral, or physical disabilities. Youll develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), adapt curriculum to meet diverse needs, collaborate with general education staff and families, and support student progress toward academic and social goals. Your role will be both instructional and supportive, ensuring students are included, engaged, and equipped to succeed in and beyond the classroom.

Required Qualifications (Minimum):

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)

  • Valid Louisiana teaching certification with Special Education endorsement

  • Previous classroom or student teaching experience in Special Education settings

  • Knowledge of IEP development and progress monitoring

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

  • Ability to pass background checks and meet school district compliance requirements
