  • Hours do not exceed 29 hours per week

BASIC FUNCTION

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-impact tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities during the summer program. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire Instructional Coaches to oversee tutor performance and technical logistics of the program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Works with NJTC/PATC program management as well as the district/community partner point-of-contact to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community

  • Ensures that Tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed.

  • Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.

  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly coaching meetings with Tutors

  • Manages the Tutor's work schedules.

  • Apprises the Program Director of staff issues immediately and helps work to resolve them.

  • Review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.

  • Ensure that tutors are using all materials needed to help scholars succeed.

  • Observe tutoring sessions and provide constructive feedback to tutors.

  • Assist tutors with data-driven instruction using iReady.

  • Provides coverage in the absence of a tutor.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree

  • Proven coaching experience in the public or charter school system (strongly recommended);

  • History of overseeing the work of others, providing feedback, and course correction when applicable

  • Leadership experience negotiating with administrative faculty (a plus, not required)

  • Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS)

  • Experience teaching

  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)

  • MUST have a Gmail email address or be willing to create a Gmail account; and experience with Google Suite applications: Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and proven ability in conflict resolution skills;

  • Reliable transportation to and from the work site

Employer Qualifications:

  • Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable.

  • Undergo a background check for I-9 employment authorization to work in the United States.

  • Some knowledge of the implementation of the Danielson Framework
