Summary:
The Multi-Site Teacher Assistant supports the Teacher in the daily operations of a Head Start or Early Head Start classroom. Work location and site will vary based on program needs. The Teacher Assistant assumes the Teacher's role in their absence.

Specific Duties:

1. Assist in planning daily lessons and activities. Assume primary classroom responsibilities as needed.
2. Support child developmental assessments to ensure individualized learning.
3. Conduct home visits, collaborate with parents, and assist in problem-solving with families and volunteers.
4. Maintain communication with parents through conferences, letters, newsletters, notes, calls, and home visits.
5. Assist parents in accessing community resources and services.
6. Collect and provide required health information for each child.
7. Assist with meal preparation, cleanup, and participate in meals with children.
8. Help maintain cleanliness of the classroom and center.
9. Assist in planning and conducting parent meetings or training sessions.
10. Support recruitment efforts for the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
11. Participate in professional development, including meetings, training, and workshops.
12. Help obtain volunteer and in-kind contributions for the agency and submit required documentation.
13. Adhere to all MCCAA, Head Start, DHS Licensing, and NAEYC Accreditation standards.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; CDA credential or Associate's degree preferred. (CDA credential in preschool designation required within 6 months of hire.)
• Experience: Previous experience working with preschool-age children (0-5 years old) preferred.
