This position seeks experienced Special Education Teachers dedicated to supporting students in grades K-5, 6-8, or 9-12 in a focused academic setting. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, the role is within a middle school environment specializing exclusively in special needs education, with an emphasis on supporting students with autism and learning disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored math instruction to students with special needs across designated grade levels
- Manage individualized education plans (IEPs) and coordinate case management duties
- Implement and support behavior plans as needed to foster a positive learning environment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students
- Maintain detailed progress records and municate effectively with parents and staff
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education (K-12) certification is required
- Pennsylvania Generalist (K-12) certification is strongly preferred
- Proven experience with behavior plans and special education teaching, especially in math
- mitment to working in a special needs-only academic setting focusing on autism and learning disabilities
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Schedule and Location:
- Contract role for the school year (NSY)
- Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM EST, 35 hours per week
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
