Summary
Ascension Childcare, Inc is seeking a full time teacher to complement our experienced, diverse, and dedicated teaching team. We are an established, NAEYC accredited, 5 STAR, SEED Sew certified early education program in Shelburne that currently serves 55 children. We implement emergent curriculum, building experiences and exploration opportunities for children based on their curiosities about the world around them! We promote anti-bias education, ensuring we honor and value each child, their family, and each staff member. We implement an emergent (child-led/play-based) curriculum, where teachers use observation and assessment to offer a variety of child-led, play-based experiences for all children in our program.
We are currently looking to fill position in the following age groups...
Infants - 3-12 months
Mobile Infants - 18-30 months
Duties
All teachers at Ascension Childcare, Inc are held to a high standard of providing quality care and education. Infant/Toddler Educators take care of our tiniest friends, which requires extra care and softness. Care for young babies is individualized, and therefore requires educators to be flexible, to be able to multitask, and to keep calm in moments of unrest. Teachers provide nurturing care, compassionate social/emotional coaching, a variety of learning opportunities, and guidance to the children enrolled in each class. Teachers work as part of a teaching team directly in the classroom, in addition to collaborative efforts with all staff.
Requirements
Must have or be working towards:
Bachelor's/ Associate's degree in ECE, or at least 21 college credits in ECE
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Must be able to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move about the space safely.
Must be available for employment between the hours of 7:30-5:00, M-F.
