As a Barber Instructor, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our students. You will guide them through practical and theoretical lessons, ensuring they are well-prepared for state licensure and successful careers in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with industry standards and curriculum guidelines.
- Teach fundamental barbering techniques including cutting, coloring, and styling.
- Facilitate hands-on practice sessions, demonstrating best practices in a salon-like environment.
- Evaluate student performance through assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized classroom and clinic area.
- Stay current with industry trends and share knowledge with students.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to program development.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Must have an active Barber License in the State of Illinois.
- Must possess an active Barber Educator License in the State of Illinois.
- Prior experience as a practicing barber is essential.
- Teaching experience in a barbering program is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for educating and mentoring future professionals.
- Monday through Friday 5:00pm-10:00pm cst

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $19.00 and $23.00/hr. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
