Location: Elgin, IL
Duration: Non-School Year (NSY) Contract
Grade Levels: Kindergarten through 12th Grade
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Utilize appropriate munication methods, including sign language and assistive technology, to enhance learning
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Provide support and training to staff and families to promote understanding and inclusion
- Maintain detailed records and municate effectively with parents, staff, and administrators
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with K-12 Deaf or Hard of Hearing students
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and munication methods used in Deaf education
- Strong munication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create engaging, individualized instructional plans
