An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to serve a K-12 student population. This full-time, contract position spans the entire school year and is based in Ionia, MI.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Expertise in working with students on the autism spectrum across K-12 grade levels.
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and classroom accommodations.
- Ability to implement evidence-based strategies tailored to students with ASD.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff.
- Experience in creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction designed to meet the unique needs of K-12 students with ASD.
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support personnel to ensure consistency and support.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching methods as needed.
- Foster social, emotional, and behavioral development alongside academic growth.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities.
