Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking an NPI (New Product Introduction) Technician in partnership with a prominent client in the Binghamton area within the Manufacturing field.

NPI Technician Job Summary:
Shift: 1st
Pay: $20 – $21/ hour

NPI Technician Job Responsibilities:

  • Assemble new cable and harness prototypes based on direction from the engineering team.

  • Interpret and work from schematics, layout diagrams, and engineering documentation.

  • Document the build process step-by-step to assist in creating standardized manufacturing instructions.

  • Read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, and detailed technical documentation.

  • Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

  • Computer literacy with knowledge of programs/software specific to the manufacturing process and Microsoft Office.

  • Experienced in processes and procedures and can recognize non-conformance or problems.

  • Operate a variety of manufacturing tools and equipment used in cable/harness production.

  • Use approved tools (including digital cameras) to capture process images for future reference.

  • Support the development of new products using customer prints, wiring diagrams and customer supplied documentation.

  • Evaluate and recommend new production methods and offer input on process improvements.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.

  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as directed by engineering.

  • Support training of peers or assist in team-based initiatives as needed.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient work area in accordance with 5S principles.

  • Maintain flexibility and responsiveness to changing project needs, assignments, and schedules.

  • Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with internal quality procedures.


NPI Technician Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/ Equivalent.

  • Previous experience in cable assembly.

  • IPC certification (IPC 610 / IPC 620).

  • 2 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, cable assembly, or technician role.

  • Completion of blueprint reading course preferred.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to provide process feedback.

  • Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9000.
