VMC Group is seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Quality Control Auditor to support both field and in-house quality functions. This role is responsible for conducting audits, managing quality documentation, inspecting products and installations, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards. The ideal candidate will be experienced in manufacturing environments, field inspections, and quality systems management.
Responsibilities not limited to:
1. Inspection & Auditing
- Perform on-site inspections of manufacturing processes, products, and field installations (in-house and customer locations).
- Conduct ISO 9001 internal audits as directed by the Manufacturing Engineer.
- Conduct dimensional checks on in-process products using inspection tools.
- Identify and document quality issues, non-conformances, and initiate rework procedures.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, engineering drawings, and manufacturing standards.
2. Quality Records Management
- Maintain and organize Certificates of Conformance (C of C) for critical incoming materials such as steel and rubber.
- Manage calibration records to ensure all required equipment is current and accurate.
- Process and control RMA (Return Material Authorization) materials.
- Document all inspections, audits, and non-conformance reports in compliance with ISO standards.
3. Training
- Deliver Quality System training for new employees (shop floor and office staff).
- Translate work instructions and training documents into Spanish as needed.
4. Additional Duties
- Serve as back-up to the Shipping Clerk when required.
- Support internal and external quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required; technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Proven experience in ISO 9001:2008/2015 environments.
- Background in building inspection and manufacturing required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Completion of an ISO internal auditor course.
- Passport and Real-ID required as the role requires 65-75% of travel - (Domestic and International)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in using calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Knowledge of calibration procedures and systems.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds.
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer or performing inspections.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed.
- Combination of office, manufacturing floor, and field environments.
