Job DescriptionSalary:

Nimbus is seeking a visionary Data Architect to support the Fraud Waste and Abuse analytics, detection, and case management for a major Government agency. Contributing to the design, development, and implementation of innovative data solutions in alignment with our federal clients strategic enterprise data architecture. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, agile-savvy (preferably in SAFe), and capable of driving data consolidation efforts through creativity, leadership, and deep technical expertise.

Position Description:

We are looking for someone who can both do and directable to build proofs of concept and articulate a compelling data strategy that fosters collaboration, early wins, and value-driven results. The Data Architect will also interface with a variety of stakeholders, including business owners, SMEs, contractors, and security teams, to ensure alignment with the clients goals and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide data management expertise across programs. Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable data solutions following CMS's (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Target Lifecycle (TLC) process.
  • Promote and guide enterprise data strategies, ensuring adherence to data governance and management standards.
  • Maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with CMS privacy and security mandates.
  • Drive consolidation opportunities by engaging existing contractors and offering creative, value-driven solutions.
  • Support and document data reference architectures from transactional to analytical platforms.
  • Perform data analysis, pattern recognition, and quality assessments.
  • Implement data modeling techniques including relational, dimensional, and semantic models (OWL/RDF).
  • Support BI/reporting tools and data virtualization platforms.
  • Develop and manage data warehouses, data marts, and transformation logic.
  • Employ Agile methodologies, ideally within a SAFe framework, to deliver iterative value.
  • Lead proofs of concept and demonstrate measurable value in data initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in IT and related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and enterprise data management.
  • Strong experience with data governance, metadata management, and end-to-end data lifecycle practices.
  • Proven ability to influence, lead, and communicate a clear data vision across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI) and data integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, preferably SAFe methodology.
  • Ability to conduct effective data analysis, mining, and anomaly detection.
  • Hands-on expertise with databases such as Oracle, Teradata, and Hadoop ecosystems.
  • Experience in designing and managing data warehouse/data mart solutions.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe certification or Agile leadership experience.
  • Experience working in CMS or other federal healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and big data ecosystems.
