Training and Communications Specialist / Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) Tool Trainer
Location; Newport Beach, CA – Hybrid (onsite 4 days per week)
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Project Portfolio Manager (PPM) Tool Trainer, you will be the trainer for the Planview platform our client is implementing and work with the various stakeholders and Project Management Offices (PMOs) across the enterprise to develop training curriculum, online courses and hold training sessions with various user groups. This is a high visibility role across the enterprise working with a large group of users and stakeholders.
- Build training programs and materials for various user groups like project managers, resource managers, leadership, and finance.
- Train various user groups on Planview processes sand functionality.
- Identify any issues and feedback from training sessions and funnel to application backlog.
- Identify platform improvements as part of trainings (process and user experience).
- Identify any technical issues and log appropriately.
- Act as a strong business partner with our business and enterprise functions who use the tool in a variety of ways (demand management, project management, resource management).
- Create communicates through written and verbal correspondence with internal users as applicable.
- Set proper expectations with users and PMO leaders.
- Support other department needs in support of Planview as assigned (demos and training rollout planning).
QUALIFICATIONS
Typically, 7+ years' experience, demonstrating the following:
- Good understanding of project and portfolio management processes, ideally having worked in or supported a Project Management Office.
- PPM tool experience (used or implemented) and training curriculum development and rollout experience, ideally with Planview or other leading PPM tool.
- PPM tool trainer (in a leading or supporting role) ideally with Planview or other leading PPM tool.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to complete assignments in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, balancing accuracy, speed, and thoroughness.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Adapts to change quickly.
- Recent Planview implementation, user or trainer experience for a financial service company.
