Job Title: Assembler
Location: City of Industry, CA
Pay Scale: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour

Job Summary:
As an Assembler, you will play a key role in the manufacture and inspection of precision aircraft fasteners. You will operate multiple machines to assemble small parts that come out of the Cold Heading Department, with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of quality. This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, along with expertise in using inspection tools and reading blueprints to ensure the parts meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine Operation: Operate 2-3 machines to assemble small parts from the Cold Heading / Roll Forming Department.

  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints to ensure correct assembly and specification compliance.

  • Inspection: Regularly use inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, comparators) to monitor parts throughout the production process.

  • Product Sorting and Testing: Sort and visually inspect products for defects and perform tests to ensure they meet company and customer specifications.

  • Assembly: Select, mount, and align tooling and materials. Make necessary adjustments to ensure high-quality parts are produced.

  • Rework and Maintenance: Perform rework as necessary on assembled products and tooling, ensuring adherence to specifications.

  • Record Keeping: Accurately document production data, test results, and performance metrics as required.

  • Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.

  • Teamwork: Assist colleagues as needed and support other departments to meet production and quality goals.

  • Miscellaneous Tasks: Complete additional tasks or projects as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and follow detailed instructions.

  • Machine Operation: Proven experience operating assembly machines, with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines as needed.

  • Inspection Tools: Familiarity with and the ability to use measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to inspect in-process parts for quality control.

  • Blueprint Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in various units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).

  • Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED. At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work with precision. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
