Job Description: IT Project Manager (Infrastructure Projects)


Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Project Manager to lead and oversee complex infrastructure-focused projects, including technical support, networking, systems, and cloud initiatives. This role requires someone who is comfortable taking ownership of end-to-end project delivery, driving cross-functional collaboration, ensuring strategic alignment, and promoting best practices to achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects in fast-paced, dynamic environments and possess expertise in technical execution, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management & Execution:
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of IT infrastructure projects, such as networking upgrades, on-premises to cloud migrations, system optimizations, and technical support rollouts. (Source: 2025 RH Tech Report)
  • Define project roadmaps based on organizational priorities and ensure deliverables are met within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Manage risks, resolve conflicts, and ensure projects are aligned with business objectives.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Promote collaboration among technical, operations, and business stakeholders to minimize silos and maximize efficiency.
  • Work closely with decentralized PMOs to adopt agile practices and agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban. (Source: 2025 RH Tech Report)
  1. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
  • Partner with executives, business unit leaders, and technical teams to align infrastructure initiatives with broader organizational strategies and customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver status reports, project updates, and presentations for executive stakeholders.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement for IT service processes, resource allocation, and infrastructure upgrades to enhance operational efficiency. (Source: 2025 RH Tech Report)
  1. Leadership & Guidance:
  • Coach and mentor team members, including technical staff and any business analysts assigned to projects.
  • Champion project management best practices, organizational change readiness, and strategic planning.



Key Qualifications:

Education:

  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Skills:

  • Agile Project Management: Experience working with Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies. (Source: 2025 RH Tech Report)
  • Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Proven track record of managing projects involving Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Networking & Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with configuring and managing networking hardware, IT security protocols, enterprise systems, virtualization, and database solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Ability to connect business objectives to infrastructure project execution and assess long-term scalability.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of IT project management experience, with a focus on infrastructure, networking, systems engineering, or cloud-based environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications:
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), Scrum Master, or SAFe® certification preferred.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, etc.) a plus.
