SHINE Technologies is seeking a Program Engineering Manager to direct and manage the different programs and support teams within engineering. The Project Engineering Manager is responsible to hire program owners for the following areas: material control and accounting (MC&A) for special nuclear material, nuclear cyber security, configuration control, fire protection, and the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) coordinator. The team is responsible for ownership of tools such as the master equipment list, the cable and raceway database, and the hold database, and is responsible for development of new tools as needed.
The base salary range for this position is $123,000 - $165,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities of Project Engineering Manager include, but are not limited to:
Engineering Management
- Selects, develops, evaluates, and leads engineers/program managers who support the design of a first-of-a-kind nuclear facility.
- Retains responsibility for the configuration management program.
- Works with other departments, including quality, procurement, operations, and maintenance, to develop databases that support efficient processes throughout the organization.
- Balances the needs of the engineering support department with the needs and goals of the Company to produce results that best support the overall Company objectives.
Project Management
- Develops and maintains the group budget, including staff and equipment purchasing.
- Develops and updates the group schedule, maintaining a detailed and high-integrity plan to accurately predict milestones and resource loading.
- Monitors for early warning signs related to schedule slips and shifts resources to keep projects on schedule.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field.
- Five or more years of management experience preferred.
- Experience in a heavily regulated environment where configuration management and design control are required.
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff to perform at their highest level.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, prioritizing them in a way that contributes most to Company success.
- Ability to quickly identify problems, gather relevant information, and make decisive decisions while considering the effects on other areas of facility design or operation.
- Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
