Job Description
The Electrical Machine Builder performs a wide range of duties involving mechanical, electrical, and design tasks related to machine building. This role requires strong hands-on ability, mechanical aptitude, and a working knowledge of all phases of the machine-building process. The Electrical Machine Builder works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure equipment and systems meet production needs.
Duties:
Including but not limited to:
- Wire and program systems for machines and equipment
- Provide electrical and mechanical support for new and existing systems
- Operate safely around moving equipment and machinery
- Comply with all safety, quality, and production procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a valid Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) license
- Regular and dependable attendance
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Rotate to other positions as needed
- Coordinate and schedule work of project teams
- Lead or participate in project teams and Kaizen events
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Pass drug screen, vision screen, pre-employment tests, and pre-work ability screen
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Previous electrical machine building experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 100 lbs. at waist level and 70 lbs. at shoulder level occasionally
- Push or pull with up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally
- Generate up to 90 lbs. of grip strength and 15 lbs. of pinch strength occasionally
- Perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day
- Average coordination with both hands continuously
- Stoop, kneel, squat, and perform elevated work occasionally
- Reach frequently and stand continuously; walk frequently during shifts
Work Environment:
- Exposure to noise requiring hearing protection in designated areas
- Seasonal high temperatures and humidity
- Team-based environment with emphasis on concise, respectful communication
Progression Requirements:
- All base-level requirements must be met within two years of accepting the position. Advancement through progression levels is based on demonstrated technical and leadership skills, as well as successful completion of required classes and certifications as determined by the progression review committee.
