Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to ensure the stable, secure, and optimized operation of in-house computer software systems, servers, and network connections. This key role requires hands-on technical expertise in planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and enhancing IT systems across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting operational systems, managing performance and capacity, leading system administration teams, and applying advanced knowledge of networking, fault tolerance, and vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, and optimize computer networks and software systems.
  • Manage and direct the configuration and daily operation of information management systems.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot end-user software and connectivity issues.
  • Conduct system capacity and performance analysis; recommend and implement system configuration changes and upgrades.
  • Develop automated tools and scripts to improve system administrator efficiency and accuracy.
  • Create and maintain system administrator procedures; deliver training and conduct skills assessments.
  • Provide local and remote maintenance support for operational systems across multiple locations.
  • Perform server and application upgrades, maintenance, and new installations.
  • Lead and direct other system administrators in day-to-day operations, optimization tasks, and user support.
  • Apply advanced networking knowledge, including load balancing and ensuring fault tolerance of applications.
  • Perform vulnerability management and remediation tasks.
  • Advise on technology strategies to align IT capabilities with business objectives.


Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a technical discipline.
  • Candidate must have Secret clearance
  • At least 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing, with progressive responsibilities.
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Certification (IAT Level I) if the role requires privileged access.
  • Deep understanding of information processing disciplines, server environments, networking, system optimization, and application fault tolerance.
  • Minimum four (4) years of concentrated hands-on experience in software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience leading system administration teams and overseeing complex system operations.
  • Proficiency with developing scripts and automated tools to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Ability to train users, develop documentation, and convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability management practices and cybersecurity best practices.
