Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. As a Full Stack Developer, you will have experience in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions using agile methodologies. The ideal candidate is proficient across a variety of programming languages and web development stacks, with a strong ability to adapt and learn new technologies as needed. You’ll contribute to both frontend and backend development, perform code reviews, debug merge requests, and work closely with teams using Agile and extreme programming practices. Experience with automated testing tools and a passion for clean, maintainable code are key to success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using agile methods

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with basic programming languages, technologies, tools, or web development stacks

  • Experience with switching between different languages and learning new ones, as necessary

  • Experience with Agile methodology, extreme programming, software engineering, product management, and software products

  • Experience writing source code for new applications or generating and enhancing code samples for existing applications

  • Experience performing code reviews and debugging merge requests

  • Ability to work with automated testing tools to perform testing and maintenance

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in software engineering or 8+ years of experience in software engineering in lieu of a degree

  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP Certification within 30 days of hire date

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Java, including Java Spring Framework, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PHP, or Drupal

  • Experience creating solutions for large data sets and managing data stores

  • Experience with structured and unstructured data types, especially non-textual sources, such as video, audio, and imagery

  • Experience in working with various intelligence disciplines, including GEOINT, HUMINT, MASINT, OSINT, and SIGINT of the data and tools associated with these disciplines

  • Experience creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team

  • Experience with testing frameworks, including Jasmine, Karma, or Selenium

  • Experience with administration of continuous integration or continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub actions, or similar

  • Knowledge of standards in JavaScript, JSON, REST, CORS, Web architecture, and HTTP specification

  • Master’s Degree
