KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - MEP:

  • Serve as the Engineer of Record, signing and sealing system drawings for assigned projects
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, conducting periodic and independent design reviews
  • Direct the design and engineering of systems through calculations, single-line diagrams, component sizing, short-circuit analysis, and development of technical specifications
  • Review project work to ensure alignment with departmental standards, client requirements, and budget constraints
  • Oversee the design, layout, and verification of electrical system drawings in compliance with federal, state, and local codes
  • Conduct site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings, and provide on-site construction support as needed
  • Implement training and development initiatives for engineers, designers, and draftspersons
  • Collaborate with project managers on proposal development, client management, and overall project execution


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER - MEP:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering and building system design
  • Experience in new construction and renovations for corporate, healthcare, and mission-critical facilities
  • Experience executing design projects using Autodesk, AutoCAD, or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Proficiency in load calculations and software tools such as Etap or Capper/Dapper
  • Experience developing specifications for UPS systems, emergency/standby generators, and low/medium voltage switchgear
  • Knowledge of commercial and data center infrastructure
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of junior engineers and conduct field surveys and construction administration
  • Extensive knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and standards
  • Experience with lighting and electrical load analysis software
  • Strong time management skills and adaptability
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the team and with clients
  • Strong Microsoft Office abilities

Expertise in designing and overseeing systems, including:

  • Power distribution
  • Lighting and controls
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Electrical studies (short circuit, selective coordination, arc flash)
  • Lightning protection

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is strongly preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Revit are preferred. Familiarity with the USGBC LEED Rating System is also a plus. Apply now! We can't wait to hear from you!
