Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team at our facility in Ontario, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, running, and troubleshooting all conventional machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders. You will translate engineering specifications into precision parts, determining the best methods to produce the required items and manufacturing them accordingly.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to 6S standards.
- Utilize required tooling, fixtures, holding devices, and materials; determine the correct and required inserts, tool holders, or install pre-set tools in the machine.
- Check for machine readiness and ensure maintenance is performed for optimal functionality and performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying problems and suggesting corrections in machining, manufacturing, and inspection techniques.
- Ensure safety and quality considerations are proactively addressed in production processes.
- Plan machine set-ups, position workpieces, and operate various conventional machines to produce parts to specified tolerances.
- Deburr parts as needed to meet 100% quality standards.
- Perform first-piece inspections (FAI’s) and make necessary machine adjustments to ensure parts meet designated tolerances.
- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws.
- Report problems, discrepancies, and anomalies promptly.
- Use a drop indicator, calipers, and micrometer for measuring tolerances +/- 0.0002”.
- Lapp parts to achieve dimension and flatness within +/- 0.”
Essential Skills
- Experience operating conventional lathes and milling machines.
- Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MRP).
- Strong English language skills for reading, following, and interpreting planning and work order instructions.
- Ability to lift and move inventory up to 30 pounds regularly.
- Capability to stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Intermediate math skills, including fractions, for print reading and tolerance determination.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Leadership qualities for Level-IV technicians.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.

Work Environment
Work on the 1st shift from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Some Saturdays may be required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
