Job DescriptionLHH is working with a law firm in Royal Oak, Michigan and we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Intellectual Property Legal Assistant to support their growing IP practice. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, revise, and format legal documents related to patents, trademarks, and copyrights

File USPTO and foreign patent/trademark applications and correspondence

Maintain and manage docketing for IP deadlines and filings

Monitor and manage attorney calendars and schedules
-
Coordinate with clients, foreign associates, and government agencies on IP filings and documentation

Prepare and process billing, time entries, and expense reports
-
Open and maintain electronic and physical case files
-
Assist attorneys with legal research, proofreading, and client communications

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive matters
Qualifications:
-
3+ years of experience as a legal assistant, preferably in an intellectual property practice

Strong working knowledge of USPTO procedures and electronic filing systems (e.g., EFS-Web, TEAS)

Familiarity with IP docketing systems (e.g., CPI, PATTSY, Anaqua, or similar)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

A proactive and professional demeanor
What We Offer:

Competitive salary range of $65,000–$90,000, based on experience
