About the Position
Energy Exemplar is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Analyst that will be responsible for overseeing application testing to ensure high quality, leading software release preparations by analyzing changes and coordinating QA efforts across projects. You will also provide strategic direction, mentors junior team members, engages stakeholders to align on testing objectives, and writes technical documentation to describe new software features.
Lead in the testing of new development features
- Thoroughly test new functionality analyzing a wide range of scenarios
- Effectively communicate defects or needed improvements before new features are released
- Lead and coordinates testing efforts across multiple projects or teams.
- Conduct risk assessments, root cause analysis, and defect triage sessions.
Provide documentation & reporting for existing & new features
- Understand the complexities of new features in the energy sector, trading operations, and energy market participants.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results.
- Generate test summary reports and quality metrics to provide visibility into project status and quality assurance activities.
Master the simulation model
- Identify and mitigate risks early in the development lifecycle by simulating diverse scenarios.
- Optimize system performance and resource allocation based on simulation insights.
- Facilitate iterative improvements and refinements to the system based on simulation results and feedback.
- Define the metrics that will be used to evaluate the system's performance, such as reliability, scalability, throughput, and response times.
Manage process for the QA system for application developments
- Implement a systematic approach to manage the QA process for application development, organize & enhance software quality, accelerate time-to-market, and ultimately deliver products that meet or exceed user expectations.
- Regularly evaluate and adjust QA strategies based on feedback and metrics to ensure continuous improvement and optimization of the QA system.
- Effectively communicate to developers the cases which have unexplained differences
- Provides strategic direction, guidance, and oversight to QA activities.
- Develop and deliver training programs or workshops to enhance QA skills and knowledge within the team.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Strong knowledge of ISO/RTO market structures, trade execution, and risk management.
- Hands-on experience with Adapt2 T2T, Adapt2 Green, PCI, Hartigen, or other energy trading/market connectivity systems.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information system, engineering, mathematics, economics, or related field.
- Experience in ETRM software
- Experience working with simulation tools and highly technical software
- Knowledge of agile development practices.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze complex systems, identify risks, and develop effective testing strategies and solutions.
- Understanding of mathematical optimization problems.
- Organizational and time management skills.
