As a Production Lead on the 3rd shift, you will delegate and oversee workflow from the potato room through packaging and production personnel, driving plant KPI’s on a shift-by-shift basis. You will assist the Production Supervisor in implementing safety measures and achieving plant-defined KPI’s, collaborate with technicians and associates to meet daily production goals, communicate production-related concerns to the Production Supervisor, and ensure audit readiness by maintaining cleanliness, organization, food safety, and environmental safety. You will also lead team member training on industry processes, equipment operations safety, GMPs, and other food safety processes, reporting any potential food safety issues.

Responsibilities

  • Delegate and oversee workflow for line operations from potato room to packaging.
  • Drive plant KPI’s on a shift-by-shift basis.
  • Assist Production Supervisor in safety implementation and achieving KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with technicians and associates to meet daily production goals.
  • Communicate production-related concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure audit readiness by maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Lead training for team members on processes and equipment safety.
  • Report any potential food safety issues.

Essential Skills

  • Machine operation
  • Production lead experience
  • General production knowledge
  • 2+ years of production experience
  • 2+ years working in fast-paced production environments
  • 6+ months of lead experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Basic algebra and geometry application skills
  • Physical ability to stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, or crawl more than 2/3 of the time
  • Capability to push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to distinguish colors

Work Environment

You will work the 3rd shift hours from 10pm to 6:30am, Sunday to Thursday, with occasional overtime on weekends. The facility is clean and climate-controlled, following GMP standards with required PPE including hair net, beard net, smock, hard hat, and non-slip steel toes. The role involves working in an office environment 1/3 of the time and on the manufacturing floor 2/3 of the time, which includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.50/hr.
