Machine Maintenance Technician
JOB DESCRIPTION
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Basic maintenance and repairs on machines.
- Cleaning and lubricating machinery.
- Performing basic diagnostic tests.
- Checking the performance of the machine.
- Testing damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are necessary.
- Installing and assembling new machines and equipment.
- Maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
- Diagnosing and repairing machine failures.
- Installing replacement parts.
- Performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance.
- Fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in engineering with mechanical specialty is preferred.
- At least two years of cognitive and vocational experience in handling machine and machine parts is required.
- Must exhibit outstanding ability to learn and comprehend the fundamentals of the functioning of machine tools.
- Ability to illustrate general maintenance requisite and simple procedures for operation of various types of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Excellent general understanding of CNC controls and schematics.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and to meet deadlines is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to read and understand regulations and procedures is required.
- Ability to use manual machines (i.e. lathes, mill, surface grinder).
- Willing to travel.
