OverviewA leading academic healthcare system in Texas is seeking a highly skilled Epic Beaker Principal Trainer to support its upcoming Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System implementation. This role is pivotal in ensuring successful end-user training and adoption by leading curriculum development and virtual delivery aligned with clinical workflows.
You’ll collaborate with clinical, IT, and training stakeholders to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences that support laboratory operations and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design, development, and delivery of training programs for Epic Beaker, aligned with system configuration and lab workflows.
2. Create and maintain classroom and web-based instructional content (eLearning modules, tip sheets, simulations, etc.).
3. Collaborate with analysts and training teams to build and maintain training environments.
4. Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions and support credentialed trainers.
5. Provide virtual and on-site training as needed, especially during go-live preparation and major milestones.
6. Conduct testing and validation of training environments during system upgrades.
7. Gather user feedback and analyze training effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
8. Ensure all training aligns with organizational goals, compliance standards, and Epic training protocols.

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Epic Beaker certification (or willingness to become certified within a specified timeframe).
3. Proven experience in Epic training, instructional design, and/or clinical informatics.
4. Understanding of clinical and lab workflows within a healthcare system.
5. Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience in Epic Beaker build or analyst work.
2. Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or Adobe Captivate.
3. Knowledge of adult learning theory and blended learning methods.
4. Experience in change management and healthcare system implementations.
5. Previous work in academic healthcare systems or large multi-entity organizations.
