Our client is seeking a Legal Administrator to ensure their law office is running in the most efficient manner. This role is supporting attorneys in a law office and the work must be performed on site at their office. The hours for this position are 8:30 – 5 Monday – Friday.
The Legal Administration role is a contract opportunity with one of our clients in the Durham, NC area. The position will start as a contract but if there is a good fit, our client will consider converting to a permanent situation. No sponsorship or C2C arrangements available.
RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE LEGAL ADMINISTRATOR:
In this role, you will be responsible for administrative duties but could be asked to perform other duties:

  • Opening and closing files.
  • Transcription from dictation or other recorded material.
  • Word processing responsibilities (email, correspondence, discovery documents, etc.).
  • Preparation of draft pleadings for attorney review.
  • Handling of medical records (requests, organization, summary, and proper disposal).
  • Exhibit preparation.
  • Scheduling and calendar management.
  • Data entry of billable work performed, expense tracking, and all outgoing mail and filing.
  • Other administrative duties for the firm as requested.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE OF LEGAL ADMINSTRATOR:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 – 3 years of legal administration experience.
  • Outgoing personality and enjoy working with people.
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Shared responsibility for reception duties (incoming phone calls, client greeting/hospitality)
  • Retrieving mail, familiarity with general office equipment (fax, copier, multi-line phone system, etc.) and fast/accurate typing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word a MUST!
