Summary
This position is for a Family Child Care Learning Home (FCCLH) in Ellenwood, GA.
Our in-home childcare is seeking a dedicated and responsible Childcare Provider to ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of children aged 1 to 6.
WHO: Lina Lane’s Learning Center
WHAT: Looking to hire a childcare provider for 8 months to a year.
WHEN: Starting 1 MAY 2025
WHERE: The Family Child Care Learning Home located at 2329 Brookgate Way, Ellenwood GA 30294
WHY: The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, be nurturing, and be capable of maintaining a structured and fun learning environment. We are looking to train that individual to help her start her own business.
HOW: Individual will sign a 8-month (or 1-year) contract.
Duties
Supervision:
- Provide attentive and responsible care for children during assigned shifts.
- Keep records of individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
Safety: Ensure a safe environment by child proofing areas, monitoring playtime, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a safe play environment.
- Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.
- Sanitize toys and play equipment.
Bedtime Routine: Assist with bedtime routines, including bathing, changing, and reading bedtime stories.
Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to governmental dietary requirements and preferences.
- Assist in preparing food and serving meals and refreshments to children.
Play and Activities: Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts that promote their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Support children's social and emotional development, while encouraging an understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
- Observe and monitor children's play activities.
Learning Assistance: Assist older children with homework and educational activities as needed.
- Create and administer developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Read to children and teach fundamental skills that include painting, drawing, handicrafts, songs, etc.
Behavior Management: Implement positive discipline techniques and encourage good behavior and manners.
- Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring same to the Director's attention.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle emergencies, including basic first aid and contacting parents or guardians as required by policy.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents / guardians regarding the child's progress, activities, and any issues that may arise.
- Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as taking attendance, editing internal paperwork, and making phone calls.
Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks related to childcare, such as tidying up play areas
and cleaning dishes used during meals.
- Perform routine housekeeping duties, such as laundry, cleaning, dishwashing, and linen changing.
- Organize, clean, and store toys and materials to ensure order and sanitation in the activity areas.
- Perform general personnel functions, such as supervision, training, and scheduling.
Requirements
•CDA (highly preferred).
•Previous experience in professional childcare, babysitting, or a related field.
•CPR and First Aid certification (highly preferred).
*Must complete or have 10 Hours of State Approved Heath and Safety Orientation Training within 6 months of employment.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing demeanor.
•Ability to multitask and manage children of different age groups simultaneously.
•Reliable transportation to and from the employment location.
