Position Summary

The Die and Mold Generalist is responsible for making and maintaining dies and/or molds, and for operating equipment in the RAM press and forming areas to produce high-quality dinnerware items.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with an eye for detail and an interest in craftsmanship. You will gain experience in both the creation and use of the RAM press dies and molds contributing directly to the production process while learning valuable ceramic forming skills.

Responsibilities

Create Ram Press dies using air coils, glue gun, wire mesh and various tools to prepare cases for plaster pouring and die knock-out.
Mix and pour plaster using equipment such as scales, mixers, vacuum pump, hoist and pneumatic sieve to batch materials accurately.
Purge and cure dies manually or with the automated purge box to ensure readiness for production.
Operate RAM press to produce standard dinnerware pieces and the Pug Slicer and Batting Machine as part of the production process.
Perform Mold Making Level 1 duties including case prep, mold pouring, knock-out, tripping and drying under close guidance.
Support Dinnerware Forming Level 1 operations including clay handling, mold cleaning, machine operation and maintaining production standards during a 90-day training period.
Track and restock materials, maintain a clean work area and participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Desire to work in a hands-on, production plant environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication and attention to detail
Must be a team player and follow safety guidelines
Forklift certification a plus
English required

Physical Requirements (Medium to Heavy)

Ability to lift 20- 50 lbs approximately 200 times per day
Ability to lift 50-75 lb pugs up to 100 times per day
Pulling and pushing carts
Standing for 90% of the day
Other activities, including climbing, balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, repetitive motion, grasping, and feeling

Work Environment/ Hours / Compensation
This position is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site role at our Sausalito Factory & Showroom. The hours for this position are 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The rate for this position is $25.00/hr.
