Responsible for the safety, equipment reliability, costs control, and continuous improvement in the Department.
Responsible for the management of the Maintenance Group which includes: Millwrights, Electricians, Maintenance Supervisors, and Maintenance Engineers.
The position includes coordinating functions for: Maintenance Manpower, PM Systems, LOTO, Safety and Labor Grievances, and Contracting Staff.
Key accountabilities
Provide leadership and guidance on engineering and reliability projects across a multi-disciplined and cross functional team
Manage the reliability and maintenance strategy to ensure equipment downtime is minimized and PM programs are in place
Maintains the PM records and ensures system files are up to date
Ensure continuous improvement projects are in place for equipment performance considering safety, quality, productivity and reliability
Measure and report compliance of key machine KPIs to drive towards plant objectives
Coordinate supervision, proactive and reactive technical resources to support a 24/7 production operation
Oversee execution of outages, planned and unplanned work events and report accordingly
Control costs by managing purchases, suppliers and contractors
Oversees team effectiveness and determine training needs
Responsible for the coordination of maintenance hiring with the HR department
Work with the Maintenance Administrator for manpower moves, vacations, and daily manpower issues
Handles all grievance activities both labor and safety for the listed areas
