Managing Director, Court Reporting

This is a leadership role for someone who understands how to run court reporting as a business line: improving systems, motivating internal teams, and making sure clients know exactly why they should never go anywhere else.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Growth

• Develop and execute a clear plan to grow the court reporting division's revenue and footprint

• Identify and roll out new offerings or value-adds (e.g., bundled services, video options, exhibit tools)

• Work with sales to refine our pitch and positioning to law firms and funders

• Explore markets (e.g., med mal, antitrust, class action) and help define target client profiles

Team Leadership

• Provide guidance and support to the Scheduling Manager and Production Lead

• Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of court reporters (staff or contractors)

• Collaborate with our case manager to ensure smooth cross-departmental coordination

Service Delivery & Innovation

• Implement systems to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables (transcripts, roughs, realtime)

• Track KPIs and make data-driven improvements to turnaround times, accuracy, and client feedback

• Stay ahead of industry changes in tech, formats, and client expectations

You’re a Fit If You:

• Have 5+ years in legal services, litigation support, or operations

• Understand the business side of court reporting — from sales to fulfillment

• Are a clear communicator with great client instincts

• Know how to lead without micromanaging

• Have ideas and the follow-through to get them done

Bonus If You:

• Have experience managing freelance or staff court reporters

• Have worked with complex litigation, MDLs, or plaintiff steering committees

• Understand deposition video workflows and exhibit sharing platforms
