JOB DESCRIPTION: AM Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Lead Supervisor
TIME COMMITMENT: 40 hours per week (M-F, 7 am – 2:30 pm)
STATUS: Full-Time
The AM shift supervisor is the person responsible for directing all the staff and students on their shift and managing all the activities on the unit.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting residential lead supervisors in interviewing and hiring mentors to their particular shift
- Orienting and training new mentor hires
- Holding weekly training meetings on Telos’ policies or procedure for the mentors on their shift
- Disciplining and rewarding mentors on their shift
- Makes assignments to staff for Q15 minute checks
- Makes assignments to staff to coordinate scheduled activities/appointments
- Being trained in medication administration as per Telos’ policies and procedures
- Administers medications as ordered by the doctor in the absence of an RN
- Executing the run plan as per policy and procedure
- Directing staff and students in emergency situations
- Accepts and transcribes verbal orders from clinical employees
- Performing searches on students upon admission, after off-campus passes, and when runaways have returned
- Completing student admissions checklist within 10 days after admission
- Completing student security information upon admission
- Enforcing Telos’ security and visitation policies and procedures
- Obtaining a daily unit student to staff census
- Attending treatment meetings weekly. If unable to attend, then assigning a member of their shift to represent them
- Trains mentors on various assignments in the academy
- Attends the weekly shift supervisor meeting and weekly training in morning supervisor correlation meetings
- Communicates and reports to AM Campus Supervisor
- Performs all the responsibilities of a mentor PRN.
- Performs quarterly performance evaluations on mentors on their shift
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in behavioral health related fields
- Exceptional relationship skills
- Flexibility and ability to handle many situations simultaneously
- Ability to maintain healthy boundaries with subordinates
- Exceptional organizational skills and systems
- Prior Telos experience
