Summary

Dream Preparatory Academy is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Summer Camp Instructors to lead engaging and enriching activities for young children during our summer camp program. This position is ideal for teachers or educators with a background in elementary or middle school education who are passionate about creating a fun, safe, and educational summer experience. The Summer Camp Instructor will be responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising a variety of age-appropriate activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment for all campers.

Duties

Program Implementation:

• Lead and supervise a group of campers in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Implement pre-designed camp curriculum and activities, adapting them to meet the diverse needs and interests of campers.
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons and activities in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts and crafts, outdoor education, science, and recreational games.
• Organize and facilitate group games, sports, and activities that promote teamwork, cooperation, and physical activity.
• Create a positive and inclusive camp environment that encourages camper participation, social interaction, and personal growth.

Camper Supervision and Safety:

• Maintain constant supervision of campers to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Enforce camp rules and regulations, and address camper behavior issues in a positive and constructive manner.
• Administer basic first aid as needed (training will be provided if necessary).

Communication and Collaboration:

• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and other camp staff.
• Provide regular updates to the management regarding camper progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors and camp staff to ensure the smooth operation of the camp program.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Activity Planning and Preparation:

• Prepare materials and supplies for daily activities.
• Set up and maintain activity areas and equipment.
• Assist in the planning and development of new camp activities and programs.
• Ensure all activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and educational.

Requirements

•Associate Degree accepted. Bachelor to Master’s degree preferred.
•Elementary to Middle School Teacher or previous teacher experience
•Knowledgeable in Montessori and STEAM education
•Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
•Enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude.
•Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work in a fast-paced environment.
•Basic knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred, or willingness to obtain).
•Must be able to pass a background check.
•Dates of Employment: June 2, 2025 – August 1, 2025
•Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, and 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Working Conditions:
•Most of the work will be conducted outdoors in various weather conditions.
•Must be able to stand, walk, and participate in physical activities for extended periods.
•Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies as needed.
•The noise level in the camp environment can be moderate to loud.
