Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on stamping dies, including both progressive and line dies. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing dies of various sizes, including those that weigh up to 30 tons. Die repair requires operation of various machinery such as mills, grinders, lathes, and drill presses.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on stamping dies.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair both small and large dies.
- Operate machinery including mills, grinders, lathes, and drill presses for die repairs.
- Perform die repairs using various techniques including TIG welding.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of stamping presses.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency when addressing tooling issues.
- Work overtime and different shifts as necessary.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in die repair.
- Experience in troubleshooting dies and presses.
- Proficiency in stamping press operations.
- TIG welding skills.
- Ability to operate cranes, die carts, and other related equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in new die construction.
- Knowledge of cold stamping and hydraulics.
- Experience with progressive dies and production stamping plants.
- Tool & Die Journeyman's Card or equivalent experience.
- Ability to read and interpret CMM reports and scan data.

Work Environment
Work in a 710,000 square foot facility dedicated to manufacturing metal automotive components. The environment is fast-paced and can become hotter and noisy, particularly in the summer. The plant focuses on press hardening technology and supplies major automotive OEMs. The work shifts include a 2nd shift from 1:45 PM and a 3rd shift with varying hours.

This is a Permanent position based out of Lansing, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.
Benefits start Day 1 (BlueCross BlueShield)
2 Weeks Vacation (non-negotiable)
32 hours PTO = 16 in January, 16 in July
$1,000 Signing Bonus within first 90 days (paid out at 30 day, 60 day, 90 day)
Tools provided, 15 sets of uniforms, boot allowance, 401k match, life insurance
