JOB SUMMARY

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Technical Sales Consultant – Order Entry to own the front line of our sales operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurately entering and validating customer orders, ensuring speed, precision, and excellent post-sale experience. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and fulfillment teams to drive order accuracy and customer satisfaction.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES, JOB DUTIES

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process incoming purchase orders received via email by accurately entering them into our order management system in a timely and error-free manner.
  • Review and validate order details, including part numbers, quantities, pricing, shipping information, and customer terms before order submission.
  • Communicate with customers via email and phone to clarify missing or incorrect information on POs as needed.
  • Serve as backup support for incoming phone calls, routing inquiries appropriately or assisting customers with basic order-related questions.
  • Utilize comprehensive product knowledge of door hardware and security solutions to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to customers, understanding their needs, and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry including current trends, product updates, and competitor offerings to effectively address customer inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic records of orders and communications for audit and operational tracking.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying and reporting common issues or inefficiencies in the order entry process.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in order entry, sales operations, or customer service (hardware industry preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in sales or customer service is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Experience with CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ERP systems, or order management platforms.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive mindset and eagerness to improve processes and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.
