Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid/On-site)
Salary Range: $100,000 $120,000 per year + excellent benefits
Travel: ~20-25%, including trade shows, demos, and client visits

Are you a technically driven problem solver who thrives at the intersection of engineering and customer success? At Filamatic, were seeking an Application Engineer to be the technical backbone of our sales teamworking closely with customers, sales, and engineering to configure, quote, and support innovative packaging solutions across industries like Pharma, Biotech, Diagnostics, and Cannabis.


What Youll Do

  • Translate customer needs into compelling, technically sound proposals and packaging solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for sales, helping evaluate opportunities and guide clients through the buying process.
  • Conduct application testing, cost analysis, and configuration for both standard and custom packaging machinery.
  • Develop technical proposals (budgetary and firm), supporting RFIs and RFQs.
  • Participate in early project phases to ensure alignment with sold solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering on design feasibility, cost estimation, and risk assessment.
  • Generate AutoCAD line layouts and contribute to early system designs.
  • Maintain detailed records in the company CRM and support internal documentation.
  • Deliver product training and support to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend trade shows and industry events (~2025% travel, occasional weekends).


What You Bring

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical sales support, quoting, or applications engineering role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to design conceptual solutions.
  • Experience with packaging equipment or industrial automation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Customer-first mindset and strong analytical thinking.

Bonus Points For:

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software.
  • CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience with capital equipment sales cycles or custom machinery.
  • Exposure to GMP environments or regulated industries.
