Day Shift- $18 - $23 per hour (Schedule 6:00a.m.-2:30p.m.)

Swing Shift- $18 - $23 per hour+ $3.00/hr. Shift Differential (Schedule 1:30p.m.-10:00p.m.)

Graveyard Shift-$18- $23 per hour + $4.50/ hr. shift differential (Schedule 10:00p.m.-6:30 a.m.)

Heat Treat Operator – Level 1 (South Gate, CA)

We offer:

  • Starting wages are $18.00/hr to $23.00/hr (day shift)

Astro Aluminum Treating was founded in 1967 and remains today a family-owned and operated business. Astro provides aluminum treating services on some of the largest and complex structures used in the aerospace market. Operating under more than 125,000 sq. ft., Astro has 18 sophisticated furnaces and ovens to meet the industry’s strictest requirements. Astro Aluminum is accredited by NADCAP for aluminum heat treating and maintains a Quality Management Systems accredited to AS9100.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience with industrial manufacturing or general labor is preferred
  • Overtime and availability to work weekends may be required

Heat Treat Operators will start training and begin understanding and using equipment to process various aluminum materials according to customer requirements and industry standards.

  • Safety-conscious and work within standard operating guidelines and help maintain a safe, organized work area
  • Able to speak, communicate and work well with others
  • Able to work and adjust in a high-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a general knowledge in heat treating industry standards and achieve higher level certification
  • Job Activity
  • Gather materials, correctly plan production furnace loads, and follow traveler work instructions
  • Count, measure, rack, clean, and prepare parts before processing
  • Verify material counts, measurements, and descriptions
  • Operate overhead cranes (after in-house certification)
  • Operate forklift (valid driver’s license required and in-house certification)
  • Assemble and properly orient materials on heat treat fixtures and furnaces platforms
  • Handle tools (drills, saws, wire cutters, etc.)
