Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

High Side Technology has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer to support DoD research and experimentation programs in the areas of autonomous Command & Control (C2) and Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR). This position will work as a key part of a Navy-led government/contractor engineering team to support the research, engineering, demonstration, and technology transition of capabilities to enhance DoD tactical systems.

This position will deliver senior-level system engineering support to guide the development and evolution of advanced technology solutions using industry-standard digital engineering and collaboration tools such as Kanban boards, wiki’s, dashboards, and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) tools. This position will inform and guide the development, integration, and demonstration of new tactical C2 and ISR capabilities incorporating autonomy; multi-modal sensing; automated target recognition (ATR); data fusion; unmanned systems; mission planning and management; resilient communications and positioning, navigation, and timing technologies. This position will be responsible for designing and supporting the development and integration of technology solutions and guiding the technical activities of the blended government/contractor engineering team.

The Senior Systems Engineer will predominantly work on government site as part of a distributed multi-disciplinary team. This position requires interaction with government and industry personnel at all levels of authority and technical acuity and requires the ability to communicate technical and programmatic information through excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities:

· Provide a full range of systems engineering expertise to DoD autonomous C2 and ISR research and experimentation programs.

· Provide C2 and ISR domain subject matter expertise and Joint warfare concepts knowledge to inform and guide DoD research, development, integration, and experimentation activities involving the identified enabling technologies.

· Define, plan, coordinate, and support various technical initiatives (e.g. technology assessments, systems modeling, technical performance analyses, feasibility studies, constraint evaluations, cost/benefit analyses) to successfully execute the program’s research, development, and experimentation objectives.

· Define technical milestones and control gate success criteria and evaluate entry/exit readiness during engineering reviews to ensure protection of baselines and to assist in risk identification and resolution.

· Lead and coordinate software tool development to support the development, integration, and experimentation for multiple DoD Service requirements.

· Drive a culture of continuous innovation and improvement across engineering activities by collecting feedback, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance overall execution efficiency.

Requirements:

· United States citizenship required

· Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree (desired) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree.

· 8+ years of applicable experience

· Top Secret/SCI security clearance or current Top Secret SSBI with TS/SCI eligibility required

Desired Experience:

· Demonstrated systems engineering experience leading multi-system research, development, and integration efforts through requirements definition, development, testing and transition.

· C2 and ISR domain expertise gained through experience developing and/or operating DoD C2 and ISR systems.

· Expert-level Joint warfare concepts knowledge involving C2, ISR, and hybrid manned/unmanned tactical warfighting operations.
