About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Full-time Poultry Processing Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership, manufacturing, and poultry processing, with 2 to 10 years of relevant work experience. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our poultry processing facility while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all aspects of poultry processing operations, including slaughtering, cutting, deboning, and packaging.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production workers, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure all products meet or exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
- Food Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and company-specific guidelines.
- Process Improvement: Continuously analyze production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of processing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to maintain efficient production flow.
- Health and Safety: Enforce workplace safety protocols and promote a culture of safety among all team members.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide ongoing education and skill development opportunities for team members.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality, and efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Human Resources to ensure smooth operations.
- Customer Relations: Assist in addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to product quality and specifications.
Qualifications and SkillsRequired:
- 2-10 years of experience in poultry processing or related food manufacturing industry
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- In-depth knowledge of poultry processing techniques, equipment, and best practices
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and quality control procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field
- Certifications in food safety or quality management systems (e.g., SQF, BRC)
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
