<li>Collaborate with the Center Director, other teachers and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment.</li>
<li>Works with the Center Director to address any behavioral or learning challenges with children, including but not limited to Extra Need plans and implementation.</li>
<li>Provide daily activity information to parents and guardians via BrightWheel.</li>
<li>Maintain professional and open communication with parents and guardians.</li>
<li>Maintains professional and effective communication between all childcare staff members through BrightWheel documentation, in-classroom documentation and informal conversations.</li>
<li>Work with diverse populations of children and adults.</li>
<li>Remains flexible in assisting and accepting responsibility for other daily duties in the center.</li>
<li>Adheres to all DCF regulations and company standards.</li>
<li>Follows Staff Policies and Center Policies.</li>
<li>Attends and participates in continuing education/ professional development, staff meetings, center events, and parent/teacher meetings.</li>

 Requirements 
<ul>
<li>Must meet all requirements of DCF 251 for a Lead Teacher.</li>
<li>Current CPR, first aid, AHT, SIDS and Mandated Reporter certifications.</li>
<li>Member of the Wisconsin Registry.</li>
<li>Able to spend long hours standing, walking, kneeling, and lifting 40 pounds.</li>
<li>Able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.</li>
<li>Pass a background check.</li>
<li>Possess an appropriate code of ethics for working with young children.</li>
<li>Interpersonal skills with children and adults alike.</li>
<li>Basic understanding of technology used and the aptitude to learn new technology skills.</li>

Job Type: Full-Time

The teaching staff at RUA supports the vision, mission and core values established by Executive Leadership, and is a direct report to the Rise Up Academy Program Supervisor.
 
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Design and implement weekly lesson plans, around Rise Up’s core curriculum, that is tailored to children’s physical, emotional, social, and developmental needs.</li>
<li>Create a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment.</li>
<li>Support the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth of each child through structured and play-based activities.</li>
<li>Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual learning styles and needs of all students.</li>
<li>Collaborate effectively with fellow staff and volunteers; share important updates and observations as needed.</li>
<li>Communicate consistently with families and encourage parental involvement.</li>
<li>Maintain daily attendance records and up-to-date incident/behavior reports.</li>
<li>Comply with all school policies and procedures as outlined in the staff handbook.</li>
<li>Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li>
<li>Comply with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements.</li>
</ul>

Qualifications

<li>Bachelor’s degree and/or valid Washington State Teaching Certificate.</li>
<li>Formal training and experience in Early Childhood Education.</li>
<li>CPR, First Aid, and HIV/AIDS training (current certification required).</li>
<li>STARS training and a negative TB test.</li>
<li>Background check clearance required.</li>
<li>Familiarity with a range of early learning curricula and evidence-based behavior management strategies.</li>
</ul>
