The Opportunity:
West Liberty University is seeking applications for a Head Coach Women's Golf. The Head Coach Women's Golf performs responsible program building including, planning, coaching, recruiting, managing, and directing an institutional athletic program. The Head Coach Women's Golf is responsible for managing various aspects of the athletic team to which assigned, including strength and conditioning, practicing, competing, scheduling, and student athlete retention. Job responsibilities require the ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Work activities are performed under limited supervision, working from established policies and objectives. This position exercises judgment in prioritizing, planning, and organizing own work within time, process, and results requirements; has some flexibility to modify workflow based on need and circumstances. Decisions made address non-routine questions and situations, requiring investigation and/or research or procedures.
Essential Functions of the position:
<ul>
<li>Coaches: Team of student athletes</li>
<li>Develops: Game strategy and position assignments</li>
<li>Evaluates and Recruits: Qualified student athletes, as well as ensures timely submission of their academic records for admissions.</li>
<li>Monitors: Students class schedules, grades, and student athlete academic program.</li>
<li>Manages: Purchases of uniforms, equipment, and supplies; including accountability for expense control of the sports budget.</li>
<li>Adheres: To all rules and regulations set forth for the team and institution, as well as the appropriate conference and athletic association.</li>
<li>Collaborates: With personnel in the Athletics Department, attends department meetings and activities, and always represents the institution positively when interacting with the community, alumni, media, and general public.</li>
<li>Serves: on a variety of university and higher education committees as requested.</li>
</ul>
 
Education &amp; Experience Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's Degree in related field </li>
<li>At least 1 year of experience coaching in an athletic program relevant to the area of assignment in high school, junior college.</li>
<li>Collegiate Coaching is preferred</li>
</ul>
Skills/Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Excellent verbal communication and listening skills, with the ability to develop reports.</li>
<li>Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to analyze and resolve issues.</li>
<li>Possess a proactive approach to responsibilities, managing/leading others.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.</li>
</ul>
